Maxine Warner, 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation. A Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at McLaren’s Chapel with inurnment at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Maxine was born June 6, 1928 in Richmond, Virginia to Jessie and Julia (Herndon) Kidd. She was a banker at East Des Moines National Bank. Maxine was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Des Moines and also active in the women’s group. She loved doing crafts, shopping, working outdoors, walking and spending time with her grandkids.
Maxine is survived by her two daughters, Joanne Steward of Kansas City, MO and Cathy Warner of Overland Park, KS; son, Hugh Warner, III (Susan) of Des Moines; three granddaughters, Amanda (Jeremy) Mally of Bondurant, Nicole (Jesse) Hueser of Madrid and Lauren (Tammie) Steward of Kansas City, MO and two great-granddaughters, Chyler and Madison Mally. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh A. Warner, Jr. and son, Christopher Warner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to First Presbyterian Church.
