Mary May Smith, 96, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Mercy Hospital on July 15, 2014. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Mary was born Mary May Beeson on June 25, 1918 in Des Moines, IA to Leona and Wilbur Beeson. She was married to the love of her life William Henry Smith on September 19, 1936. Mary was an office worker at Younkers Department Store.
Mary is survived by her son Jerry, brother Ronald Lumadue, 7 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Bill, son Kenneth and 15 brothers and sisters.
Mary was an amazing and inspirational woman that will be missed by all who knew her.
