

At 1:58 p.m. on August 25, 2015 at Arbor Springs Nursing facility, the hand of Marcella M. Kunde slipped quietly and with dignity from her husband’s hand into the hands of God.
Marcella (Marcy), 87, was born in Three Lakes, WI to her parents Clarence and Josephine Jensen on May 14, 1928 and very soon moved to Rhinelander, WI. She attended school and graduated with the class of 1946. She was employed by Wisconsin Bell Telephone and quickly moved up to become Chief Telephone Operator, the youngest, at that time, in the U.S.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel, 801 - 19th Street, West Des Moines, IA 50265. The inurnment will follow in Resthaven Mausoleum.
Marcy had several interests in her life, first and foremost being her family, to which she was totally devoted. She also enjoyed knitting, reading, playing cards, bowling, golfing, shopping and keeping her home clean and happy for her family. She was kind, generous and helpful to those in need. She will be greatly missed by all.
She married Robert W. (Bob) Kunde on July 9, 1949 in Rhinelander, WI. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Marcy was blessed with two daughters, Nancy (Tom) Harper and Kris (Stan) Richard; four grandchildren, Tom and Mike Harper, and Lindsay and Natalie Richard; and recently thrilled with the addition of two great-grandchildren, Jordan Joseph Reyes and Alia Grace Harper; and her sister, Dorothy Bronson of Rhinelander, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents.
