Lois Ardell Maupin, 88, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2020, after a brief stay at Taylor House in Des Moines.
Lois was born on December 25, 1931, in Dayton, Iowa, to Swedish immigrants Olof and Bertha (Johnnson) Erickson. She married Al Maupin in 1954, and they made their home in Des Moines. Lois retired from Statesman Group in 1988 and enjoyed retirement to the fullest, filling it with family, friends, and extensive travel.
Lois was preceded in death by daughter Kellie Brown of Des Moines; step-daughter Toni Duvall of San Diego; and siblings Harold, Roy, and Paul Erickson and Betty Bergman. Surviving Lois is her husband, Al Maupin; daughter Tami (Tim) Alderman of Dallas, Texas; granddaughters Lonni and Bailey Alderman; grandsons Nick (Amanda) and Matthew (Emily) Brown; great grandchildren Kellie and Austin Brown; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
