She was a firecracker who loved spending time with family and friends. She had a huge heart. She loved decorating their home inside and out, planting flowers, listening to some good ol’ Little Feat music along with many others, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her love Gary. Her delightful, contagious laugh filled every room she entered.
A good friend of hers wrote: “She departed in style on the 21st day of the 21st year in the 21st century. I’m sure she is saying ‘Top that’!”
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Donald Hayward, stepfather, Robert Johnson, mother, Beatrice Johnson, sisters, Donna Condry, Dee Johnson, Chris Johnson, brothers, Richard Hayward, and Jack Hayward.
She is survived by her husband Gary, children Nathaniel and Tyler; four grandchildren Lindsay, Gavin, and Jack (Nathaniel’s children) and Eden (Tyler’s child), along with one great-grandchild, Violet (Lindsay’s daughter), her brother, Gary Hayward, and sister, Shauna Kunkel, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines. Memorials may be made to the Taylor House or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
