Linda Joan Brayman

Linda was born September 28, 1939, to the late Earl and Hazel (Shoemaker) Barton in Los Angeles, CA.

She and her family moved to Osceola, IA where she graduated in the High School class of ‘58. Linda

attended Broadlawn’s School of Nursing, and had a lifelong career as a registered nurse in Des Moines,

IA.

Linda met the love of her life, Walter Brayman, “Scooping the Loop” in Downtown Des Moines. During

their 50 years of marriage, she and her husband travelled the country, raised a family, and retired to

Inverness, FL. After Walter entered the Kingdom of Heaven, Linda returned to Des Moines in 2010.

While back in Iowa, Linda was a member of the West Des Moines Christian Church where she enjoyed

worship and fellowship. All throughout her life, she enjoyed reading and the needle arts. However, her

greatest passion was her family. She is forever loved, and will be forever missed.

Linda is survived by her two children, Barton Allen (Ruth Evelyn) Brayman, Becky Lynne Brayman; Two

grandchildren, Cecelia Marée Walker, and Vanessa Rose (Rachelle Margaret) La Mar; Four great

grandchildren, Aidan, Auron, Liam and Connor; And several nieces and nephews. Linda was

predeceased by her husband, Walter; And two sisters, Norma Winter, and Jeanne Price.

Linda’s memorial service will be conducted Thursday July 29, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the West Des Moines

Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Randy Ehrhardt officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m.

until the hour of service.
