Our precious little angel Jaden Wesley Morrow went to heaven on Sunday, August 4, 2019. He was welcomed by several family members: maternal grandmother, Erica Ladawn Smartt, paternal great-grandparents Phyllis Ione & Maurice Wesley Borlin, Eldridge Morrow and beloved cousin Gene Edwin McLaughlin. They will introduce him to so many other aunties, uncles, cousins and everyone else waiting and excited to meet him.
He is survived by his parents: Jordan Wesley and Ellonn Loyal, and his brother Elijah Lee. Grandma MiMi (Marilee Kathryn Millang), Grandpa Pop-Pop (Wesley Kirk Millang), Grandpa PaPa (Mike Anthony Sean Morrow), Great Grandma Nana (Carole Jean Morrow). Along with uncles: Xavier Anthony Sean Morrow, Alexander Michael Morrow, Demetrius Perez Smartt, Andrew Wesley Millang and cousins, D’ovion Ellis-Devon Simpson, Zay’mere Morrow, Layla Morrow, Christine McLaughlin & Ashley Holiday. These family members are in addition to so many other friends, family and even friends we just haven’t met yet.
After a seemingly normal day on July 9, Ellonn’s water broke. After rushing to the hospital and what seemed like a million tests, they decided to try to keep baby Morrow inside Momma as long as possible. Baby boy had other plans and he made his grand entrance to the world on July 11 via emergency cesarean section. Jaden weighed only 13 ounces, but was a fighter from the beginning. He drank Momma’s milk and was growing strong for the first 20 days of his life. However, on August 4th he gained his wings in the arms of his loving parents and surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019 at McLaren’s Funeral Chapel on 801 19th Street in West Des Moines. Jaden’s family will take him home with them to live forever. A private family visitation will be held prior.
Jordan and Ellonn would like to thank the wonderful nurses, doctors, surgeons and all other staff at Blank Children’s Hospital NICU. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting children’s books for donation to the NICU. During his baby brother’s stay, big brother Eli received several books ‘from Jaden’, which will be an important memory for him throughout his life.
Sometimes, it’s the smallest things that take up the most room in our hearts.
