Helen M. Fletcher, 92, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at McLaren’s Chapel with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Helen was born August 4, 1923 in New Hampton, IA to Leo and Lena (Weidler) Denner. She was a standards analyst for Modine Manufacturing Company in Trenton, MO. Helen married John Fletcher on September 3, 1953 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in West Des Moines and she also volunteered in the church office.

Helen is survived by her step-son, Duayne (Lucille) Fletcher of Osceola; step-daughter, Glayne (Bill) Adamson of Osceola; sister, Leona Kammeyer of New Hampton; brother, Jim (Lois) Denner of Waverly; one step-grandchild; five step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Fletcher; parents; step-grandsons, Todd Fletcher and Barry Adamson; and brother-in-law, Wilmer Kammeyer.
