Gerald Lair Jr., 86, passed away September 28, 2024. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery.
Gerald was born August 17, 1938, in Des Moines to Gerald and Eileen (Bruce) Lair. He worked at Firestone as a tire builder and retired after many years of service. Gerald is survived by his daughter, Vicky (Tim) Masterson; grandchildren, Sahiba, Sahil, Sabir Dassan and their parents, Harmalla (Tony) Dassan; grandsons, Matthew and Dustin Lair; brother, Joe (Candee) Lair; and sister, Joan Azinger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie; sons, Randy Ray and Rick Lair.
