Evelyn Marie Selin, 100, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Trinity Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at McLaren’s Chapel with burial at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at McLaren’s.
Evelyn was born in Bondurant, Iowa to Roy and Aletha Bennett. She was raised in Ankeny and moved to Des Moines in 1935. Evelyn and her husband, Irving Selin, operated Selin’s Auto Upholstery. She was an active member of Miller Methodist church.
Surviving is her brother, Kenneth from Bend, Oregon; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving; step-daughter, Anne Janetos; and sisters, Mildred, Thelma and Virginia.
