Doris Aldridge Callahan, 94 died on August 20th, 2023 at 11:19pm at her home in North Carolina surrounded by members of her family Annie, Gary, Taylor, and Tyler. She was born on March 31, 1929 in Malcolm, Iowa to Bill and Mildred.
Doris achieved her cosmetology degree from Paris Academy of Beauty Culture in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1949. She took pride in making those she worked with shine inside and out. Doris enjoyed having a strong bond with her family and her grandchildren.
Don and Doris were married for 68 years and loved each other endlessly. Her last few words were ‘Papa- he loved me and I loved him’, as she pointed to his picture in her room. She then asked her family around her to give him kisses. Don and Doris had a wonderful life traveling the world together, something they both cherished. May they be together again.
She is survived by daughters, Annie (Gary) Stover and Laurie (David) Joos; son Patrick Callahan; grandchildren, Kelly Joos, Nate (Alicia) Joos, Sara (Nick) Dolentz, Katie (Paul) Callahan, Tyler (Johanna) Stover, Taylor (Devin) Stover; Donna Callahan; and her brother Merten Aldridge of Omaha. Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years Donald, by her parents, and brother Fred.
