Doris Brown, 92, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Mitchell Village Care Center. No services are planned. A private entombment will be held at Resthaven Mausoleum.

Doris was born in Walden, Colorado, raised in Anita, Iowa and lived most of her life in Des Moines. She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a supporter of the Tuesday Club at the church.

Doris loved cooking and enjoyed teaching her children to cook. She was a good listener and a real people person who made friends easily. She enjoyed motor homing around the country with her husband.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Lindholm of Urbandale and Sandra (Bob) Buckley of Prairie City, IA; and four grandchildren, Eric (Carol) Lindholm and Kenneth, Helen and James Buckley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Brown.
