Dennis Culp, 72, of Des Moines, surrounded by his family, made his journey home, Friday, January 7, 2011. Born on July 7, 1938 in Des Moines he graduated from East High School and joined the U.S. Navy in February 1957. He enjoyed a career of many years in the insurance field, the last 20 years with Taylor Insurance Services. Dennis is survived by three loving daughters, Tammy, Lisa and Denise; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; his wife of 39 years, Nanci; a brother Jerry and sister Sharon. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, father and a sister. Dennis will be remembered as a great mentor, a very kind, considerate and loving person with a remarkable sense of humor. Dennis will be missed more than words can express. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines from 5 to 7 p.m. A private family memorial service will be held at the West Des Moines United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the West Des Moines United Methodist Church.
