Dean Moulin, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday at McLaren’s Chapel followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Dean was born April 30, 1923 in Gilman City, MO to Glen and Maude (Godman) Moulin. He was a farmer for many years and also worked as a mechanic for Hiatt Implement Company. Dean served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed square dancing, singing in the choir, playing cards, traveling and woodworking.
Dean is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Moulin of Grimes; two sons, Larry (Pam) Moulin of Southport, NC and Rod (Cindy) Moulin of Johnston; four grandchildren, Jon, Jenn, Stephanie and Michael; eight great-grandchildren, Reese, Darren, Lauren, Chayse, Grace, Emily, Jack and Nicholas; and two sisters, Mary (Clarence) DeWade of FL and Irma Kalagian of IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and two sisters.
