Clark E. Richardson, 88, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at Fountain West Health Center in West Des Moines. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Des Moines followed by lunch and storytelling.
Clark was born September 26, 1926 in Milltown, WI to Henry Robert “HR” and Anna (Keefer) Richardson. He grew up on a farm outside Conrad, Iowa. On October 1, 1949 he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart Edna Hauser after “dating” 8 years. He was in the Navy Reserves. Clark graduated from ISU with a degree in electrical engineering and worked on Harlan County Dam in NE and at Firestone Tire in Des Moines. He was plant engineer at the Ford Implement plant in Des Moines and Romeo, MI. After retirement he worked as a facility manager for Greefe and Sidney in Des Moines. Clark was a volunteer with Covenant Presbyterian Church, VFW, Fire Prevention Bureau, Camp Hantesa, Carol Joy Holling Camp and Living History Farms. Clark loved taking care of Edna, his family, dog and friends and being in his woodworking shop.
Clark is survived by daughter, Susan “Sunni” Richardson of Lincoln, NE; son, Mark (Julie) Richardson of Huxley, IA; granddaughter, Sara (David) Perez of Des Moines; great-granddaughter, Vivian Perez; and Lizy, the dog; sister, Ruth Eikhoff of TX; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna; parents; brother, Del (Muriel) Richardson; brothers-in-law, John (Dorothy) Hauser, James “Buck” (Beryl) Hauser, Robert “Windy” (Gloria) Hauser, Ray (Virginia) Hauser, Elmer Hauser, Moody Hauser and Art Eikhoff; sister-in-law, Myrtle Hauser and four nephews.
