Beverly Roseland (Gustafson), 68, departed from her earthly tent to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 29, 2018. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on January 4, 2019 at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with a visitation starting at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery following the service.
Beverly was born June 27, 1950 in Des Moines to Norman and Elinor (Connely) Roseland. She was a 1968 graduate of Valley High School. Bev married Michael Gustafson in 1969 and together they raised three children. She was a homemaker up to the early 80’s when she attended DMACC and worked as a substance abuse counselor. Bev and Michael divorced, but reunited a few years later until her death. She loved to shop at Michaels, Valley Junction, and the Picker Knows. Bev’s greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and visiting her mother in Wisconsin.
Bev is survived by her mom, Elinor Roseland; sister, Judy Strate; long time companion, Michael; son, Erik; daughter, Gala; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman; grandson, DuShawn Kelly and daughter, Heidi Hawthorne.
