Anne W. O’Neil, 86, passed from this life on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at her home in Clive. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Everyone is invited to the Des Moines Golf and Country Club for lunch and fellowship following Mass. Burial of cremated remains will be at 2 p.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.

Anne was born July 29, 1927 in Waterbury, CT to Jeremiah and Marian (Dell) Brophy. She was valedictorian of Waterbury Catholic High School class of 1945, and earned her RN degree in 1948 from St. Raphael Hospital School of Nursing, New Haven, CT. Anne was united in marriage to John B. (Jack) O’Neil on January 21, 1950, and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage before his passing in 2008. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Des Moines Golf and Country Club.

Anne is survived by her four children, Ellen O’Neil Harris, Barry (Karen) O’Neil, Stephen J. (Beverly) O’Neil and David C. (Deborah) O’Neil; seven grandchildren, Caitlin K. Harris, Colin D. (Elizabeth) Harris, Lauren K. (Christopher Merkle) O’Neil, Morgan R. O’Neil, Paige B. O’Neil, Katie A. O’Neil and Jack B. O’Neil and sister, Jeanne Crane. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Weaver.
