Ann Louise Howe, 95, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines with private family interment in Cape Girardeau, MO at a later date. The family will greet friends starting at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Ann was born on January 23, 1923 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Charles and Nadine Reiker. On June 20, 1945 she married the love of her life and best-friend Albert. Ann was extremely creative in making flower arrangements. She also had a passion for sewing and made many clothes and stuffed animals. Ann loved her family and loved sharing her delicious baked goods with everyone she could.
She is the loving and devoted mother of Sally Howe, Patti (Robert) Polczynski, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Howe, Jennifer (Eric) Walters; proud grandma of Jessica (Andy) Schalk, Chad (Mayo) Neville, Joshua (Whitney) Neville, Brett (Kayla) Polczynski, Jeffrey Howe II, Gabriella Howe, Gianna Howe and Janell Walters; and cherished great-grandma of Nicole Schalk, Natalie Schalk, Piper Neville, Liam Neville and Sophia Dominguez; She is also survived by her sister-in-law Georgia Howe; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; parents; sister, Helen Reiker; brothers, Joe (Vivian) Reiker; and George (Helen) Reiker; and brothers-in-law Dave (Gussie) Howe, Paul (Rosemary) Howe and Gene Howe; and best four-legged friend, Alex.
