Angela Sue Sanders

On October 17, 1965, Angie was born in Flushing, New York, to Carlos and Carol Orezzoli. Together with Jeff, they raised two beautiful children. Angie was kind and caring, always putting others before herself. Angie was a joy and faith-filled woman who inspired her family and friends. Faith was a priority for her and she lived it out every day. She was a longtime member of Lutheran Church of Hope, where she could share her faith and musical talent in worship. She loved to volunteer at Hope and especially enjoyed singing in the choir, being a Shepherd at Kingdom Quest and VBS, and hosting Alpha.

Angie was tough and had a strong will to beat cancer, even against all odds. She put her faith in God, asked friends and family to pray for her, and she trusted. She endured many highs and many lows on her cancer journey and she praised God all throughout. She did so with a big smile on her face. Angie fought hard to the end and is now totally and completely healed in heaven. She is walking and dancing with Jesus!

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jeff, son Nathan (Megan) Sanders of West Des Moines and daughter Olivia Sanders of Waukee, sisters, Carla Orezzoli-Braby (Shane Braby) of Humboldt, IA, Terri Orezzoli-Reschke (Michael Reschke) of Zimmerman, MN, her mother, Carol Orezzoli, of Roseville, MN, father-in-law, Bob Sanders (Janie) of Johnston, IA, sister-in-laws, Jill Sanders and Marcie Watson, of Alexandria, MN, brother-in-law Jason (Tammy) Sanders, of Clive, IA, nieces, Emily Vonderhaar-Meister (Johnny Meister), Cora Reschke, Schipper Sanders, and nephews Colton Reschke and Ty Sanders. She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos, and mother-in-law, Ruth Sanders.

Funeral services will be at 11 am, Tuesday, August 10, at Lutheran Church of Hope (925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines 50266). Visitation will be from 4-6 pm on Monday, August 9 at the church. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of Hope.
