I miss you so much my guardian angel ☹️🤍

Hi everyone,

My condolences to the family. I was fortunate to meet Michael at the program he was at before he went home. 

He was definitely a character and definitely left an impression on me. Michael was not a perfect person (no one is) but he was genuine (not many are.)

As his high school diploma teacher, we got into many arguments, but when Michael knew I was right he would acknowledge it. I'd do the same. 

He was very intent on getting his high school diploma. I couldn't understand why, I had never seen such determination from anyone in the class.

Once, I gave him an assignment to read the book of "Mice and Men" and to write an Essay on it. I kid you not, he read the book and did the essay in 3 days. 

He fought me on having to read and do the essay, but when he came back he couldn't stop talking about how much he enjoyed it.

He finished 15 credits in about month and half. That's almost unheard of. But he was determined.  And one day, in a moment of exasperation he told me why... He wanted to be with his family. He wanted to change his life... He wanted to do better. And... he was genuine... it was it heartfelt.

And guess what... he did it! He got his certification soon after.

On March 5th, we had his graduation. I was disappointed he didn't make it. I took diploma and the next day I contacted his mother. She was as excited as a mother could be. Little did we both know that later that day we would get news of Michael's passing.

So sad, so meaningless. 

I am very grateful to have me him. I hope everyone is able to find peace and closure.
