Francisco “Frank” Ramirez, a proud veteran, dedicated educator, hardworking and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on July 1, 2018 at 88 years of age. He was born in Phoenix, AZ, on July 10, 1929 to Aurelio Ramirez and Petra Ochoa. His family later moved to Stockton, CA. He joined the U.S. Army as a mechanic after graduating from high school and fought in the Korean War. After an honorable discharge from the Army, Frank furthered his education, first at Stockton Jr. College, then Fresno State (BA) and Cal State L. A. (MA). Out of the desire to cultivate the next generations of learners, Frank taught math for 31years, first at Andrew Jackson Junior/Senior High School, then Robert Louis Stevenson Junior High School and retired from Woodrow Wilson Senior High School. He cherished the interactions with students and made positive impacts in their lives, academically and personally. He was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maria Justina (Huitzacua) Ramirez, 6 sons, 2 daughters, 9 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, 2 great-granddaughters, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings. There will be a 9:15 AM Rosary and 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist, 3843 Baldwin Park Blvd, Baldwin Park, CA 91706 on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.
