San Juanita "Janie" is survived by her husband, Sergio Marin Jr.; son Saul Marin (Kelly Knight); daughter Jenilee Marin; and son Sergio Marin III (Leanna Salazar); mother Juanita V. Garcia; brother Guadalupe Garcia (Nina), sister Rosie Martinez (Domingo), brother Francisco Garcia Jr., sister Lydia Garcia, brother Jose Luis Garcia (Delia), brother Noe Garcia (Sally), sister Mary Iniguez (Reymundo) and brother Martin Iniguez (Rita); grandchild Cedrick Marin and grandchild Cameron Marin.
San Juanita "Janie" was preceded in death by father Francisco Garcia; sister Oralia Cox (Milford) and sister Maggie Aguinaga (Raul).
She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was a huge pillar in her community by devoting her time to the San Martin De Porres Catholic Church teaching youth about our Lord. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. She was loved by so many as she touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. She lit up the room with her smile, and illuminated the world with her heart. Her favorite color was purple and she loved to read, especially to her grandchildren. Her favorite scripture reads “Trust in the Lord with all your heart”
Proverbs 3:5. She carried this in her heart everyday.
A visitation for San Juanita will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM, at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home, Weslaco, TX 78596. A church service will occur Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 901 Texas Blvd N, Weslaco, TX 78596., followed by an interment on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco, TX 78596.
