Nora shared twenty seven years with her husband Joel Carranza and raised two beautiful children, Beatriz and Joel.
Nora’s pride was her family, friends, cooking and serving our Lord, as a young child she was an usher, then served in the alter at the Virgin De San Juan Shrine.
In 1993 she had the honor and joy in participating in the World Youth Day in Denver, Colorado, with Pope John Paul II where she “Partied with the Pope” at the Mile High Stadium. She continued serving our Lord as an adult at the Immaculate Conception Mission in Lopezville.
Nora was very forward, rough on the edges, she’d call things the way she saw them, no filters. All who she cared for got a scolding or two, but they understood it was in their best interest.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, family, friends and co-workers at the Texas Workforce Commission.
The family find solace, knowing that Nora is in heaven, “Partying with the Pope” and our Lord.
Nora is survived by her husband, children, parents, siblings many cousins, aunts & uncles, and her fur-babies, Lola, Baby Blue and Rex.
Nora is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. Hermino Alvarado and Mrs. Jovita Alvarado, paternal grandparents Mr. Julian Treviño and Mrs. Maria H. Treviño.
A visitation for Nora will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Highland, Weslaco, TX 78696.
