Maria is preceded in death by her first husband, Fortino Gonzales, her second husband, Jose Angel Rodriguez, daughters Maricela De Leon and Blanca Estella Gonzalez and her adopted daughters Blanca Elra and Naomi.
Maria is survived her grandsons Cornelio Garza Jr. and Anthony Trevino, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her adopted children Andres, Flora, Maria Elena, Matias and Beatrice.
Maria enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flower garden, she loved watching Jurassic Park movies, watching her Novelas, crocheting scarfs, but most of all spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by many, and will always live in our hearts.
A visitation for Maria will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Highland, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78599. A chapel service will occur Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM, followed by the burial at 3:00 PM at Val Verde Memorial Gardens, Donna, Texas 78537.
