Lydia V Rodriguez, age 89, of Weslaco, Texas left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Mid Valley Nursing & Rehab in Mercedes. Lydia was born in Weslaco, Texas. Lydia enjoyed bingo, chalupa, crafts, cooking, listening to music and dancing. She loved attending mass, shopping, completing crossword puzzles, rhyming verses, crocheting and indulged in coffee and snacks. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Hector (+Elida) Rodriguez, Norma (Rogelio) Garza, Delma (Frank) Cancino, Cynthia (Mario) Mendiola, Irma (+Joe) Lopez, Lydia (Juan) Flores and Yvonne (Jamail) Thomas. She will also be greatly missed by 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Having the honor of serving as pallbearers are: Federico Rodriguez, Rogelio Garza Jr, Michael Cancino, Mario Omar Mendiola, Jose J. Lopez Jr, Eugenio Escamilla Jr and Paul Mata III. Family will receive friends Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 2 pm to 10 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Monday, July 29. 2024 at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
