Juan Flores Villarreal "Johnny" passed away at age 76 in Harlingen, Texas on December 11, 2024. Johnny was born in San Benito, Texas to Luis G. Villarreal and Santos Flores Villarreal on September 24, 1948. He attended Saint Teresa Catholic School and San Benito High School. Go Greyhounds! He was All Zone Defensive Football Player, Prom King, and Voted Most Popular. He graduated from San Benito High School in 1966. He went on to complete a bachelor's degree in psychology at Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas. Johnny was a teacher at Texas State Technical College in Harlingen, Texas where he met Terry. He owned a Real Estate and Construction Company Pan American Construction in San Benito, Texas. Attended Reynaldo Garza School of Law San Benito, Texas 1992 with a Juris Doctor (D).
Johnny's hobbies included sports: Both as participant and Enthusiast for his beloved San Benito Greyhounds and Dallas Cowboys. Johnny taught and participated in various outreach ministries. Johnny and Teresa Del Carmen Ramirez were married in April 1979 and enjoyed life together living in San Benito, McAllen and Harlingen, Texas. Johnny was widowed in October 2007 when Terry went home to heaven.
Johnny Villarreal is survived by his children: Jamie Lee Johnson (Richard A. "Rick" Johnson), Aron Lucas Villarreal, Sarah Lisa Villarreal (Fouad A. Aourarh) and Theresa Ann Villarreal.
Grandchildren: Kristen, Justine and grandpets: Mellow, Smoosh and Hulk. He is also survived by his brothers: Apolonio (Sylvia) Villarreal, Gilbert (Patricia) Villarreal, Luis Villarreal Jr., Roel (Yolanda) Villarreal.
Johnny joins the Angels that have gone before him parents: Luis G. Villarreal (father), Santos Flores Villarreal (mother), Teresa Del Carmen Villarreal (wife), Georgian Villarreal (daughter), Omar Villarreal (brother), Linda Villarreal (sister) and Travis Lee Johnson (grandson).

Johnny (Dad) enjoyed a loving and caring home life with his supportive family and his caregiver Lorena Frias. Dad had an appetite for life and good food.
A visitation for Johnny will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 5:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Highland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596. A service will occur Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 7:00 PM. A chapel service will occur Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM. A burial will occur Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596.
