Juan Garza, 59, of La Villa, Texas entered into eternal rest, while in hospice care surrounded by his mother and siblings, at his residence on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018. He was born in Mercedes, Texas to Pablo Garza, Sr. and Consuelo Garza.
He was a man with a strong work ethic and a genuine love for his only son and granddaughters, for music, and with strong family ties. “God blessed the broken road” that led him back to living life to the fullest when he met his true love, America. Through her love and support, he created a strong and loving bond with his son and granddaughters whom he cherished. Juan was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back, was always there to lend a helping hand, a true friend to those who knew him well, and was always the one who was the life of the party.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pablo Garza, Sr., his common-law wife, America V. Leal, his infant brother, Julian Garza and infant sister, Guadalupe “Lupita” Garza. Juan is survived by his son, Juan Garza, Jr., his loving mother, Consuelo Garza, his brothers: Jaime (Cecilia) Garza; Pablo Jr. (Victoria) Garza; Julian (Rosa) Garza; and Cosme (Anita) Garza; his sisters: Diana (Matthew) Rangel, Norma Garza, Irma Garza, Gloria Garza, and Juana (Zequiel) Montez. Also surviving are his three granddaughters: Unique, Monique, and Domonique Garza and his daughter-in-law Brenda Garza. Serving as pallbearers will be Juan Garza, Jr., Pablo Garza, Jr., Julian Garza, Jaime Garza, Cosme Garza, Ramon Reyna, Jr. and Zequel Montez, Jr.
The Garza family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and staff at MICU and 2nd floor of Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, TX and the nurses and staff at Amara Hospice in Edinburg for the genuine care given to Juan.
