Juan will forever be remembered as an incredible dedicated humble family leader, who understood what true riches were, and the value of what it was to follow God. Leaving an everlasting legacy and gift to the generations, he gave life to. The gift of knowing Christ which is unlike no other. Juan understood that nothing on this earth could be done without Christ. Therefore, he made it a priority for his descendants to know Christ, for the day of his absences. The most important value he left was his legacy which was gift of life and faith. He taught us always that "Dios es Vida". (God is Life)
Juan was a hard worker, who worked in the fields and later at Texsun for 17 years until it closed. He was proud to have taught the value of hardwork and providing for one's family.
In addition, he enjoyed gardening and from now on each time we admire nature we can feel that he is still with us.
Left to cherish his memory are his 8 sons Guadalupe (Yolanda) Carrillo of Hearne, Tx., Tomas (Martha Elena) Carrillo of Mercedes, Sebastian (Juana Maria) Carrillo of Mercedes, Esteban Carrillo of Mercedes, Eusebio (Alicia) Carrillo of Donna, Bernardo (Anita) Carrillo of Weslaco, Jose Angel (Raquel) Carrillo of Mercedes, Vicente (Maria de los Angeles) Carrillo of Mercedes, 8 daughters Juanita (Rogelio) Rios of Mercedes, Maria de Lourdes Rangel of Edinburg, Lucia (Martin) Portillo of Weslaco, Juana Maria (Eduardo) Vega of Weslaco, Andrea (Mario) Zapata of Donna, Maria del Refugio (Jose Juan) Mendez of Mercedes, Monica (Fidel) Meraz of Weslaco, and Natividad (Mario) Estrada of Weslaco. He is also survived by 64 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Juan is now reunited with his beloved wife Dominga G. Carrillo, his two daughters Guillermina and Aurelia, his parents Concepcion and Cristina Carrillo, his 2 grandsons Mario Zapata Jr. and Vicente Carrillo Jr. and his brother Bernardo Carrillo.
A visitation for Juan will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024 and Wednesday, April 17, 2024 both days from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM both days at Funeraria del Angel Highland, 6705 N. FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78596. A church service will occur Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 109 S. Illinois Ave, Weslaco, TX, followed by the interment at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco, TX 78596.
