Jose was an excellent storyteller, had stories to share of his life growing up which captivated audiences. He loved spending time with family and friends. Jose also enjoyed a good tequila and his Marlboro Reds while listening to his corridos, Las Tres Mujeres being his favorite one, he was loved by many and friend to all. Left to cherish his memory are his children, multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, siblings, nephews and nieces.
Jose is survived by his children Maria Candelaria Samaniego (Regino); Maria De Los Angeles Alvarez (Jorge); Maria Guadalupe Cortez (Alfonso); Martin Trevino (Norma); Eleno Trevino (Juanita); Esmeralda Trevino; Felicitas Trevino; and Erika Aguirre (Roberto).
Jose was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Trevino; his parents Jose Angel Trevino and Ester Castillo, his sister Felicitas Flores and brother Luis Trevino.
Visitation for Jose will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM through Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Funeraria del Angel - Highland Funeral Home, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596. A rosary will occur Monday, February 13, 2023 at 7:00 PM. A chapel mass will occur Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM. A second rosary will take place on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 7:00 PM.
A burial of ashes will occur Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park, 6705 North Fm 88, Weslaco, Texas 78596.
