Joe Cruz, 77, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 31, 2020. Born Jose Angel Cruz on December 27, 1943 in Rio Grande City to Juan and Alicia Cruz was known to his immediate family as Pepe. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Aurcelia Guerra and nephew Roel Guerra.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty two years, Adelphia M Cruz. Children: Zelda Gonzales (John), Joe Michael Cruz, Adrian Cruz, and Angie C. De Leon (Adriel). Siblings: Juan Cruz Jr., Alicia Escobar (Agustin), Javier Cruz (Elia), Maria Guadalupe Cruz (Carlos). Grandchildren: Amandalee Gonzales, Samuel Gonzales, Jaden Cruz, Natan Cruz, Sebastian De Leon, and Ezekiel De Leon. Joe was known for his love of serving his community as an active member of Abundant Life Church in Harlingen. He will be greatly missed by numerous friends and family members whom all held a special place in his heart.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel in Weslaco on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 5pm-9pm with a prayer service at 7 pm. Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 1 pm at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
