Domingo P. Torres was born May 29, 1931 to Eleno Torres and San Juana Peña in Weslaco, Texas. He passed away on December 31, 2023 in Weslaco at the age of 92.
Domingo met Rebeca Fuentes in Weslaco, where they later married and started their family before moving to Shelbyville, Michigan in 1963. Domingo began farming at Bourdo Farms and later at Leep's County Line until his retirement, moving back to Weslaco soon afterward. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Domingo Jr.; grandsons Mickey and Marcos Torres; and four brothers and nine sisters. He is survived by his youngest brother, David (Andrea) Torres; his children, Jaime (Amparo) Torres, Frank (Carolyn) Torres, Juanita (Danny) Anaya, and Hilda Trevino (Auggie Radtke), all residing in Michigan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Highland in Weslaco on January 11th at 12 p.m., followed by a service at 1 p.m. , and a graveside service at 2 p.m. Afterward, a luncheon will be held at Primera Iglesia Bautista Libre in Weslaco.
