Daniel Villanueva Chapa, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on September 27, 2024, at the age of 89. Daniel was born in Weslaco, Texas, on January 26, 1935, to Procopio Chapa and Gumecinda Villanueva de Chapa. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Maria E. Gonzalez Chapa, his sons Daniel Chapa, Jr, and Arcadio Chapa, and his great-grandson Zachary Aydin Cardenas. Daniel was a retired contractor by trade and a real estate developer in Weslaco. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Having the honor of serving as pallbearers are: Dominic Daniel Chapa, Romolo Chapa, Devin Gabriel Reyes, Roberto Chavez, Jr. and Francisco Reyes.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 5 pm to 8 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Thursday, October 3, 2024 at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
