Billy was born in Lake Charles and lived in Woodlawn. He was the co-owner and operator of Riceland Aviation. He had been flying for over 30 years, also flew for Jeff Davis Mosquito Control. Billy was the president of Jeff Davis Central Waterworks, past president of LAAA and a member of the United Methodist Church of Roanoke. He found great solitude in his camp at Big Lake. He loved boiling crawfish and spending time with family and friends. Billy loved deer hunting and had been a member of the N4 Ranch in Junction, TX for over 30 years, he also was an avid scuba driver but his passion was crop dusting. He was a loving husband, son, father, and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Debora Precht of Woodlawn; parents, William and Beverly Precht, Sr. of Roanoke; a son, William Precht, III of Woodlawn; a daughter, Lauren Thompson and husband, Andrew of Lake Charles; a brother, Robert Precht and wife, Leslie of Clarksdale, MS; grandmother, Audrey Marcantel of Iowa; father and mother-in-law, Nolan and Shirley Miller of Woodlawn; sister-in-law, Carolyn Fontenot and husband, David; two brother-in-laws, David Miller and Rod Miller; two nieces Jacqueline Precht and Jenny Miller; three nephews, Matthew, Ryan, and Kane Fontenot.
A life celebration memorial service will be held 10am Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Family will receive friends from 4-9pm Monday and will resume 9am until service time on Tuesday. Words of comforts may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
