Wanda Ann Jolie, 86, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022, at her home in Welsh, Louisiana. Wanda was born on June 23, 1936 in Welsh to Leo and Ada Giggar, where she was a lifelong resident. She was a housewife who enjoyed shopping, playing cards, going to the casino and playing bingo. She also thoroughly enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Jolie; her brothers, Leo “Boy” Giggar, Vernon Giggar and Mike Giggar; and her sister, Billie Giggar Berlinger.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Daphne Duplichan and her husband Joe, Karl Jolie and his wife, Sarah, Mark Jolie, and Corey Jolie and his wife, Tiffany, all of Welsh, Louisiana; her sisters-in-law, Anna Lee Jolie of Carencro, Louisiana and Gaynell Jolie of Welsh; 12 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to recognize and offer a special thank you to Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, including Luke Guidry, LyKasha Robinson and Nicole Smith.
Honoring Wanda as Pallbearer will be Jody Duplichan, Boe Duplichan, Michael Jolie, Trevor Jolie, Braiden Jolie and Buck Pugh, along with Matt Hudson as an Honorary Pallbearer.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am on Monday, November 14th at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, November 13th at the Hixson Funeral Home, 412 E. South Street in Welsh, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:00pm.
