Tom attended Lake Charles High School, where he met his wife Joan Dosher Dimmick. He attended University of Houston. In 1956, Tom was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles into the NFL. After his football career, Tom entered the oil service industry, and made his home in Lake Charles and Lafayette.
He was an avid fisherman, Hunter, and loved to golf and cook for friends. He was known for his fish fries and crawfish boils.
Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Joan Dosher Dimmick, his Dad, Ira Clinton Dimmick, his mom, Mary Ella Dimmick, his older brothers Clinton Dimmick, and Bill Dimmick, his older sisters Mary Francis McGraw and Betty Hutchison.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children; Steve Dimmick, Matt Dimmick, Kelly Minaldi, Dee Anne Dimmick, and Christi Dimmick, 10 grandchildren; Christopher Dimmick, Stevie Dimmick, Tyler Shamburg, Taleena Mathieu, Trask Shamburg, Jordan Minaldi, Cheyenne Minaldi, Drew Dimmick, Demi Guidry, and Tanner Dimmick. 9 great-grandchildren; Olivia Dimmick, Evan Dimmick, Graye Mathieu, Lowell Shamburg, Cash Guidry, Dylan Guidry, Krislyn Dimmick, Hayes Dimmick, and Jagger Dimmick.
The family will welcome the public for visitation Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 1:00pm with memorial services beginning at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Lake Charles, LA. Inurnment will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
