

Beatrice was born on December 17, 1931 to Sidney and Enez (Benoit) Sonnier. She was a native of Morse, LA and attended Morse High School until her family moved to Welsh in 1947. She attended Welsh High School (getting her GED later), and married Sidney Paul Ardoin of Welsh, on April 16, 1949.
Beatrice worked for a few years as a representative for Stanley and Avon products. She worked at the Welsh General Hospital and Nursing Home as a CNA for two years and as the purchasing agent for fourteen and a half years (retiring in 1981), and served on the auxiliary board as reporter and recording secretary for twenty- two years. She was a member of the Welsh Golden Age Nursing Home Auxiliary, Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, an honorary member of the Catholic Daughters of America, The Altar Society, a past member of the Lake Arthur Boat Club where she served as treasurer and recording secretary, and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary of Lake Arthur. She enjoyed reading, movies, sewing, oil painting, baking cookies for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, visiting and assisting family and friends.
Those left to treasure her memory include her four daughters: Barbara (Kenneth) Guillory of Lake Charles, Kathleen “Dale” (Vernon) Sonnier and Patrice Sydnie “Patty” Ardoin both of Welsh, and Susan “Susie” (Paul) Johnson of Rogers, AR.; ten grandchildren: Sholatta (Steven) Lyons, Jarrod (Crystal) Cormier, Joshua Cormier, and Christopher Sonnier all of Welsh, Kristie (Brian) Edmondson of Youngsville, LA, Kevin Guillory of Lake Charles, Cody (Christie) Regan, Heather (Aaron) Kimbal, and Kyle Johnson (Aubry) of Rogers, AR; Marshall (Hillary) Johnson of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; fifteen great grandchildren: Skylar, Chase, Brett, Kaylee, Kaleb, Blaizlyn, Dylan, Aryanna, Zander, Katelyn, Annika, Anna Claire, Andrew, Jaiden, and Axil; sister, Audrey Arceneaux of Welsh, brother Henry Sonnier (Beth) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Paul Ardoin; her parents, Sidney and Enez Sonnier, her brother, L.J. Sonnier, her sister, Betty Jane Sonnier Richard; her Godfather, Alcee Sonnier, and best friend Wilford Langley.
Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM with a rosary at 6:00PM and resume on Friday from 8:00AM until 10:30 procession. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM on Friday, Jan. 2, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church and officiated by Reverend Archimandrite Hebert May, J.C.L.. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearer will be her seven grandsons. Burial will follow at Bon Pasteur Cemetery.
