Lena Breaux Doucet

Lena was a native of Lake Arthur and longtime resident of Welsh where she was member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Lake Arthur High School class of 1951. Lena enjoyed cooking, baking, working in her yard and floral designing. Her greatest passion was her family and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 73 years, Melward Doucet, Sr.; children, Cynthia Doucet Porche and husband Allen, Sr., Melward Doucet, Jr., Vickie Doucet Hebert and husband Phillip, Bobby Doucet and wife Bridget, and Ramona Doucet Chapman and husband John; grandchildren, Renee Bourg, Carey Porche and wife Laura, Allen Porche, Jr. and wife Katie, Brian Hebert and wife Brandi, Katie Porche, Robert Doucet, Jr. and wife Hope, Kyle Hebert and wife Brandi, Jaime Doucet and husband Blaine, Melanie Sharp and husband Harvey, Jeremy McGraw, Brandon VaNess and wife Mary, Sarah Chapman, Tyler Chapman; 26 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; five sisters, Laura, Rita, Shirley, Linda, and Telsa; and her faithful caregiver and friend, Gloria Thibodeaux.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two great grandchildren, Owen Porche and Kathleen Doucet; three brothers, Leroy, Larry, Hulland; and two sisters, Melba and Margie.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh on Sunday, March 30, 2025 beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will resume on on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. in the funeral home until the procession leaves for the church at 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
