Joseph "J.B." B. Broussard, age 88, of Welsh, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. "J.B." was born August 4, 1932 in Gueydan, Louisiana to Allison Broussard and Theola Hoffpauir Broussard.
In 1952 he joined the Air Force and spent 20 years earning the rank of Master Seargent, and meeting and becoming lifetime friends with many of the people with whom he worked. During that time, he made two tours of Vietnam (1966 & 1970).
He spent 30 + years in law enforcement in service of his state and community. He was the Chief of Police in Welsh, a detective in the Sheriff's Department, a courtroom minute clerk and a detective for the District Attorney, all for Jefferson Davis Parish. His devotion to the people of the parish cannot be overstated. In these capacities, he again built lifelong friendships with the people he met and with whom her worked.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, J.D. and Larry Broussard; one sister, Myrtis McCown; brother-in-law, Pierre Daboval, Alvin Daigle, Harold Daigle, J.E. "Jr." McCown and a sister-in-law, Peggy Daigle.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, whom he loved dearly.
The family would like to deeply thank the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home and its incredible and blessed staff for the care and love they showed "J.B." throughout his stay there. The quality and dignity of his life was always of importance to them. We could not have asked for better.
We would also like to thank the angels sent to us through Lamm Home Health. Words cannot express how much the care they have given to J.B. is appreciated. Their guidance through this time has meant more to us than they can imagine.
Thank you to all of the churches and individuals who lifted prayers for J.B. and our family during this time. Your strength was felt in many ways.
