He was a native of Ville Platte. He belonged to St. John's Catholic Church in Lacassine. He was a Veteran of World War ll and was a Master Sergeant in the Army. He worked for Sears for 5 years and Shell Oil for 30 years.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-laws, Liz and Stephen M. Katchur of Lacassine; Angela and Michael Heinen of Hathaway; sons and daughter-in-laws, Michael and Eve Guilbeau of Dallas, Tx.; Greg and Shonagh Guilbeau of Youngsville. He is also survived by seven dearly loved grandchildren, Kandice McFadden of Lacassine; Maria and Catherine Guilbeau of Dallas, Lance and Brooke Heinen of Hathaway; Chase and Lauren Guilbeau of Youngsville. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. Guilbeau.
His service will be Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh. Father Roland Vaughn will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. and resume Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery.
