Gary Lee Benoit

Gary Lee Benoit, 68, of Welsh, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his residence. He was born on March 12, 1953 in Lake Charles, LA. He enjoyed watching the New Orleans Saints, Crabbing, and Fishing. Most of all, he was a very good man and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his significant other of 22 years, Sherri Duke; his mom, Mary Foreman; two sons, Gary Lee Benoit, Jr. of Lake Charles, Adrien Benoit (Megan) of Lake Charles; four daughters, Dawn Benoit Thibodeaux of Lake Charles, Charissa Benoit Dalton of Moss Bluff, Keri Benoit Degeyter of Lake Charles, Ashley Benoit Tassin (Justin) of Houston, TX; one brother, David Benoit (Deborah) of Forest, VA; one sister, Barbara Benoit VaSalle (Randal) of Welsh, LA; fourteen grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Gary is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lee Benoit; brother, Charles Benoit; along with his son, Shane Benoit.

Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 2:00pm, with Bro. David Benoit and Bro. Dunn officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Derouen Cemetery.
