Vernon Lee Brown, III, a lover of Cape Cod, died on April 17, 2024 at age 73, after a number of long term illnesses. His death was confirmed by his son, Andrew Brown.
Vernon Brown was a long time resident of Cape Cod, in Provincetown and Truro. He was known for real estate and restoring classic homes. He loved driving his Scout on the dunes and cruising in his Porsche. He loved boating in the waters around the Cape.
He loved the arts and collecting objects of beauty. He loved shopping the flea markets in Paris and was a regular at Brimfield for many years. He made friends wherever he traveled and kept up with them thru the years from California to Paris. He traveled extensively. Two of his favorite destinations were Paris and St. John. He loved cooking and going to concerts.
In addition to many close friends he adored his dog, Boo.
He was born in Glenview Illinois, moving to Ridgewood, NJ at an early age. After graduating from Colby College he lived in Harvard, MA and various Boston neighborhoods, before moving to the Cape.
He was predeceased by his father, Vernon L. Brown, II, and his mother, Violet Brown. He is survived by his son, Andrew Brown, and daughter-in-law, Kate Miller Brown, two granddaughters, Julia and Charlotte Brown, and two sisters, Wendy Brown and Sharon Brown. He is also survived by Boo.
