Joseph Anthony Pellegrino Sr.

Joe passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital November 19th, 2023 surrounded by family.

He was born in Cambridge, MA, on July 4th, 1923 to Francesco and Maria Pellegrino. He was 1 of 8 children.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp. in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945.

He was the husband of Irene for 66 years. Irene passed away in 2008. They were married in the Wellfleet American Legion Hall on December 12th, 1942.

They were parents to 4 children, Thomas, Joseph, Norman, and Marie.

Grandfather of Kevin, Tommy, Tina, and Jason. Great Grandfather of Kailey, Leila, Thomas, Ryder, Giuliana, Austin, and Jason Jr. Uncle to many Nieces and Nephews. Grand Uncle to many Grand Nieces and Nephews.

Joe was a homebuilder, carpenter, jack of all trades, Wellfleet selectmen, committee member, member of the American Legion and VFW, Little League baseball coach, Boy Scout troop leader and ran roller-skating at the Legion Hall.

He enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, his pet rabbits, the Red Sox and Patriots among many other hobbies.

Visitation will be on December 15th, 2023 from 4 to 6 P.M at the Nickerson Funeral Home on Main Street in Wellfleet.

Burial will be held at the Oakdale/Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Wellfleet, MA on Saturday, June 8th at 11:00 AM.
