Eugene F. Cormier 82 passed away December 3, 2014 with his loving family at his side. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Dillon) Cormier. The son of the late Eugene J. Cormier and Catherine I. (Swift) Cormier.
Eugene was born May 6, 1932 in Whitman, Ma. He was a graduate of the Class of 1950 Wellfleet High School.
He was a member of the United States Air Force, 4 years active and 4 years inactive. He was an Electronic Engineer for MITRE Corporation of Bedford, Ma. for 37 years.
Eugene built his own home in Wellfleet. His many hobbies were fishing, boating, photography, camping and traveling all over New England. He also enjoyed his antique "57" Chevy.
He was on the Board as Secretary of the Wellfleet Historical Commission, where he was the photographer of the (A Guide to Monuments, Memorials and Burying Grounds) in Wellfleet.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of 58 years, two sons James M Cormier and wife Katerina of Brewster, Daniel G. Cormier and wife Christina of Yarmouth. Three daughters, Aurelie C. Cormier of Needham, Mary Ellen and the late Robert F. Burchard of Canton, and Laurie Anne and Joseph Kennedy of Bradford, Ma. Nine grandchildren and his brother Donald E. Cormier of Hyannis. The visiting hours will be at Nickerson Funeral Home, Wellfleet on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 4-7. The funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Wellfleet at 12:30p.m., followed by burial at Oakdale Cemetery, Wellfleet.
