Anne S. Carrington of Dennis, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday August 8th at the age of 73 at the Epoch Senior Living Center of Harwich. Anne (also known as Wendy) was born on November 22, 1941 to Margaret Howe Sterrett and Malcolm Carrington Jr. at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Anne was the only child of Margaret and Malcolm. In 1945 Margaret married George W. Allen and Anne spent the next few years in Auburndale, Massachusetts, eventually settling in the Hartford, Connecticut area with her family. Anne attended Conard High School in West Hartford, Connecticut. She had a musical gift and was an excellent pianist. She spent her early twenties in New York City and eventually ended up on Cape Cod. Anne loved the Cape and the town of Dennis where she lived for many years. She could be found in many of the North Dennis establishments. Anne was a very compassionate person who was always offering to share what little she had with complete strangers. She was a devoted member of the Dennis Union Church.
Anne was predeceased by her mother Margaret S. Allen, her father Malcolm Carrington Jr. and her half-sister Lynda (Sandy) A. Stewart . She is survived by her half-brother George Allen Jr. and his wife Kristin Allen of Putney Vermont, as well as her aunt, Elizabeth (Betty) Sterrett of Dennis, nieces, nephews and cousins. Anne was always very thankful and grateful for the people of Dennis, her church, and those in the community who helped make her life relevant.
