Yvonne Renee (Bryant) Williamson left this Earthly world and earned her wings in heaven on December 1, 2016. She will always be remembered by her family and friends as a very caring and fun-loving person who wanted to be the “best mom ever”. Goal achieved and then some, Mom! She once said that she wanted “lime green” worn at her funeral and wanted her services to be a party instead of a melancholy affair. Mom loved providing for others and being with her family. She loved to teach her grandchildren to bake her famous cinnamon rolls as a sort of rite of passage. She was always the one to crack a joke, make fun of herself or say something in her own made up language which we would mimic back. She loved sewing clothes, Christmas stockings and silly hats for all of us. She did so not as a task but as a constant show of her unconditional love. She was also skilled at cross stitching and amazed us by deftly playing the piano by ear. As much of a character as Mom could be, she was the epitome of elegance and grace and took great pride in how she looked and carried herself. She was truly stunning on the inside and out.
She was born in Dallas Texas on August 9, 1938 to George Benjamin Bryant and Zena Mae Bryant. She attended Stephen F. Austin High School and then Texas Tech University. While in Houston in November of 1959, she met and had coffee with a handsome young Marine. The next week she accompanied him to the Marine Corp Ball. Less than a month later she was engaged to him and they were married on March 5, 1960. Between January of 1961 and October of 1965, her prayers were answered as she became a mother to three boys. The coffee shop date lead to 57 years of marriage to my Dad, Francis G. "Gunny" Williamson. Yvonne worked for Clear Creek Independent School District as an assistant in the administration building and as an assistant at Webster Intermediate. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and had many close friends. Her greatest passion was being a mother to her three sons and being a great wife to her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband. Her sister Stella Joan Rooth. Her sons: Bryant Williamson (Vickie) of Kingwood Tx., Ross Williamson (Lori) of Pearland Tx., Kelly Williamson (Tiffany) of League City.
