Vencie Ray Hill

Vencie Ray (McNeese) Hill of Pasadena, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born in Logan, Texas on June 28, 1938, to H.O. McNeese and Louie (Reeves) McNeese. She married Donald D. Hill on September 3, 1960, in Pasadena, Texas. Vencie was a graduate of Deer Park High School.

Vencie started working for Prudential Insurance Company immediately after High School but left to start a family. After raising her children, she went to work for the Harris County Sheriff’s Department and retired from there in 1999.

Vencie is preceded in death by a son; Farrell Lynn Hill, her parents; H.O. McNeese and Louie Reeves McNeese, a brother; Wayne McNeese, and her husband of 62 years; Donald D. Hill.

Vencie is survived by her children; Darrell Hill (Julie) of San Marcos, Texas, Catherine Forest (Frank), of Deland, Florida, Rex Hill of Alvin, Texas, and Randy Hill of Kapolei, Hawaii, Grandchildren; Shelby Pape (Dillon) of New Braunfels, Texas, Tanner Hill (Ashlee) of San Marcos, Texas, and Great Grandchildren Raylee and Wyatt.

Vencie enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, cooking, and singing. She shared her love of singing with many in the Pasadena and surrounding area by performing at public events, dedications, music clubs and senior events.
