Tate Joseph Roussel, 46, of League City, Texas, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 24, 2023. Tate was a beloved husband of 15 years to Kathleen Roussel, and a father to his children- Tate Jr, Taylor, Gunnar and Darian. Chef Tate was also an inspirational leader, role model, and influence to thousands of students throughout his life.
Tate was a man of unique abilities and talents. While he carried multiple roles in his life, his professional passion was the advancement of food science, culinary arts, and success for the future generation. A graduate of the Food Science program at Louisiana State University, he dedicated countless hours to the personal and professional development of the thousands of students that walked through his kitchens and classrooms. This work continued at home with his loved ones, along with his passion for photography, graphic design, sports, and all things purple and gold.
Tate was a dedicated family man who loved with all of his heart. Willing to do anything, for anyone, he was always there for his loved ones in any situation. This love was reciprocated by an infinite number of individuals, and he will always be missed.
Tate is proceeded in passing by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ruby Roussel Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Montz.
His legacy will live forever and will be survived by his wife Kathleen Roussel; children, Tate Roussel Jr (TJ), Taylor “Bean” Roussel, Gunnar Roussel, and Darian “D” Gutierrez; parents, Ruby Roussel Jr., Merlinda Gutierrez Villar, Hector Dario Gutierrez, Janelle Gregus and Chris Gregus; brothers, Nathan Green and Kevin O’Brien; sisters Charo Gutierrez Green, Rosa O’Brien, Melissa Sacks and Jessica Gilbert and nieces, Hannah Green, Sarah Green and Olivia O’Brien as well as a loving support system of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Heaven has gained an angel. He will always be watching over us. May you soar to eternal heights Tate. You will forever be in our hearts. Rest easy and cook on!
Viewing will be Thursday, April 27th, 2023 from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM with the Reading of the Rosary at 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
Catholic Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 28th, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00PM with viewing to begin at 1:30 PM. His family would like to invite all guests to a large reception immediately following the service from 3:00 PM to 5:00 to celebrate and honor the life of Tate.
