Sonya Veronica (Ronnie) Bishop

Sonya Veronica “Ronnie” Bishop, 70, went to be with our Lord surrounded by family & friends on Oct. 11, 2012, to join the love of her life, Felton. Ronnie was born Jan. 1, 1942 in Galveston, TX, to Andy & Sue Slutak. She resided her whole life in Bayview, TX. Growing up her biggest love was dancing. She graduated from Clear Creek High School where she was a Drum Majorette. While in high school she met Felton and they married two months after graduation in 1960. They were married at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she was a devoted life long member. It was not uncommon to hear her beautiful voice from the choir. Ronnie worked for CCISD in various positions, ending her over 30 year career in transportation. She spent her retirement years traveling abroad with many of her dear friends. Although she enjoyed traveling, her greatest love was spending time with family & friends, especially the annual 4th of July picnics.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, parents, brother Andy Jr., sisters Sandra Shaara & Susie Slutak. She is survived by her son Tay Jr. and his wife Krissy and grandson Jef, her daughter Lyn and her husband Lester Linkenhoker and granddaughter Chrystal and her husband Thomas Bailey, and many loved nieces & nephews.

Visitaion will be Thursday, Oct. 18th at Forest Park East from 5pm-7pm. Funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 19th 3pm at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Dickinson, TX. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Trinity.
