Sherry L. Green

Sherry L. Green, of Houston, Texas, passed away November 2, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Prescott, Arkansas, on January 1, 1948, grew up in Pasadena, Texas, and lived in Pasadena-Friendswood-Clear Lake area all her life.

Sherry graduated from Pasadena Sam Rayburn High School in 1966. She was employed by Houston Light & Power Company (HL&P) in 1967, initially at the Harrisburg location and then transferring to the South Houston main location where she advanced to Office Manager. Sherry completed her loyal service to HL&P in 2001, with a distinguished career spanning 34 years.

Sherry loved music and dancing, camping in her travel trailer on Texas beaches, working in her yard, beading, word search puzzles and her fur-babies.

Sherry was preceded in death by her loving father Johnny L. Allen and step-mother Elizabeth (Bettye) of Pasadena, Texas.

She is survived by her loving and devoted mother Hazel Everage McBee and step-father George of Deer Park, Texas, sister Patsy Green Kilpatrick and husband Steve of Hernando, Florida, brother Johnny L. Allen Jr. and wife Pam of Houston, Texas, her long-time partner John Cook of Huntsville, Texas, numerous nephews and nieces, and her fur-babies Buffy and Bandit.

Sherry loved animals and donated to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Any donations to your local SPCA in her name would be a fitting tribute and much appreciated.
