At the age of 16, Robert started working in the mailroom at Folgers. He spent 40+ years in the Oil and Gas industry as a drafting engineer supervisor. During his career, he worked for such companies as Fluor Daniel, Brown & Root, Mustang Engineering, Jacobs Engineering and Sasol. His work took him all over the world including: Australia, South Africa, Canada, St. Croix, Saudi Arabia, Columbia, Philippines, Venezuela, and many states in the US.
Robert was an avid traveler and enjoyed playing the tables in Vegas. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, watching movies, and telling stories. He also liked researching genealogy and history, as well as admiring antique cars. Most of all, Robert loved to spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert L. and Madeline Hamilton, brother, William Ronald Hamilton, brother-in-law Thomas Birch, former spouse Suzanne Britain, daughter Vivian Pipkins, and son Bruce Hamilton.
Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his sister Gail Hamilton Williams and husband Tom, and nephew Michael, son Brian Hamilton and wife Kim, daughter Marianna Muzquiz and husband Art, son Scott Hamilton and wife Lisa, and daughter Sarah Hamilton and Fiancé Douglas. He also leaves behind former spouse, Diane Hamilton, sister-in-law Betty Hamilton, nephews Richard and Steven, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held Saturday, September 12 at 10:00AM in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas 77598. Immediately following he will be laid to rest at Forest Park East Cemetery. Greg Funderburk Minister of Pastoral Care of South Main Baptist Church of Houston will be officiating.
